Hendrix Collaboration

If you haven't see the new rooftop spot in Columbia yet, you're missing out! Hendrix opened in February and has been buzzing Main Street ever since. When you visit Hendrix, you will see art throughout the venue that was curated from our very own Meredith Christenberry! The collaboration came from a friendship between Christy Davis (Owner and Designer of Hendrix) and Meredith. The two have been friends and working together on successful local projects for five years, and Hendrix is no different. *Robert Clark Photography We sat down with Christy Davis to ask her about how she developed the design concept...

Artist Highlight: Ashley Williams

Christenberry Collection is featuring a local artist for the month of March and could not get enough of her personality spunk and artistic abilities. Ashley Williams does it all, but most importantly she makes art that brings joy to the lives of so many.  Ashley has been experimenting with graffiti recently and incorporating it into her “Babes in Baubles” series to give it an edgier flair.  Sometimes the juxtaposition of graffiti and a more traditional interior design is really just what a space needs. Ashley believes, "It’s ok to break design rules!" Here is a piece Ashley worked on for quite a...

February: Camp Cole

Camp Cole.  If you haven't heard about it, keep reading, this is one camp you need to know about. Cole Sawyer was 11 when he lost his battle with cancer in 2004. While he was alive, he and his family had been able to experience a camp for children who were facing similar health concerns and this experience inspired his parents to build the same type of place for children in Columbia. Stacy and Scott Sawyer (Cole's parents) and their best friends Deans and Peter Fawcetts worked diligently to develop the plans for Camp Cole. The four had a vision and...

New Artists & Gift Guides

New Artists & Gift Guides Holidays are a time for family, friends, and gratitude. We are busy this season adding new artists and connecting with designers across the country for gift guides. We recently partnered with a new artist Virginia Chamlee. Virginia is a Florida-based artist (and our December Artist Highlight) whose work is inspired by the colors and shapes found throughout her home state, and the power and beauty of the female form. A writer by trade (she has written for Style and Beauty features for Buzzfeed and The Washington Post, among others), much of Virginia's work incorporates words into...

October: March of Dimes Month

Christenberry Collection has teamed up with March of Dimes for a month of celebration and support in October. A portion of proceeds from all sales this month will go toward March of Dimes so we wanted to give you the low down on the organization.

March of Dimes leads the fight for supporting health of all moms and babies in communities across the country. The origination believes that every baby deserves the best possible start in life. Unfortunately, not all babies get a great start and the March of Dimes is out to change that.

From advocacy and education to research, the March of Dimes team is working to level the playing field so that all moms and babies are healthy.

The Studio Tour of Your Dreams

We had a chance to tour Jane Marie Trail's newly renovated home and studio last week and have been dying to share the details with you.

Jane Marie is an artist from Spartanburg, South Carolina. She can't remember a time in her life where art was not a focus. She always carried a pad and pencil with her as a child and eventually started taking art classes to sharpen her natural art abilities.

Artist Highlight: Ashley Williams

This week on the blog we are highlighting Ashley Williams, a local superwoman who created The Collective, Manages Hue Home Studio, Runs Linen and Loom (with her college best friend), and creates beautiful art.

Ashley traveled the Southeast with her mom as a child shopping through antique stores and hometown galleries. The constant exposure gave her a passion for art and design. Her mom was an art teacher for 25+ years (Shout out to all the teachers out there!). Ashley began up-cycling and painting furniture in 2014 to sell to homeowners in her hometown Columbia, SC. This small business grew into an idea that is now The Collective where she sells her work as well as other artists and designers in the Columbia area.
