from Kristen, the artist: ”This collection was inspired by one of my mother’s and my favorite places to vacation, Chautauqua Institute, where are the houses are over 100 years old. One summer, the house we rented had wallpaper in the bathroom that was from the 1950’s with a pretty floral print, in pastel colors, with a certain mid-century vibe to it. I took photos of that wallpaper and knew I’d create some paintings form those ideas. Years later, here they are and they bring back fond memories of family and fun.”
