A little story about this collection:

Inspired by Luke 1:67-79

I knew what the titles would be even before I created this series.  One morning as I read these words in Luke, “…whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death to guide our feet into the way of peace (v. 78-79) (which describes Jesus just months before his birth) and thought about how this collection releases right before the Christmas season, it all began to click.  Images of light and peace… that’s what I’ll paint!  But what exactly will the subject matter be? I didn’t know yet.

Fast forward to the next Sunday afternoon.  I was admiring the view from my cozy pillows of warm afternoon light filtering into our bedroom and creating the most peaceful shadows cast by a plant perched on our dresser.  I knew that this was the peaceful mood I wanted to capture with paint.

Soft peaceful shadows, a gift from the light.

In each piece of this collection, you’ll find soft shadows and golden light.  I hope they both serve as a gentle reminder to embrace rest this season as you focus on our source of peace.
