The story of the Eiffel tower, nicknamed “ the iron lady” can be told with just a few brushstrokes. Initially criticized for its’ design, she now stands as one of the most recognizable cultural icons in the world.

Collaged billboard paper, joss paper and lattice lines created with paint seem to lend a sense of gaiety to the structure. Built as the entrance to the 1889 World’s Fair in Paris, the lure and beauty of the tower never grow old to me. Saying more with less relates not only to the simplicity of the design, but also to a joyful awe felt standing in her presence. As if she stands tall and shouts “BONJOUR”!
